Critérium White Bay

2017 Rider Briefing/Event Information

This rider briefing should cover everything you need to know before you show up to race tomorrow. If we've missed something, or you have any further questions, please get in touch. Otherwise, see you trackside!

Riders will be able to collect their numbers & timing transponders on the day. Look for signs marked 'SIGN ON HERE' to be sure you're in the right place. Note - the event village will be open from approximately 1pm (you will not be able to access the venue beforehand, unless you are part of the event team).

Be sure to arrive with plenty of time ahead of your race to collect these items as there may be a queue. The final racing schedule is on the main event page.

Be sure to check the final start list to confirm your race start time.

Race management and timing is being handled by Cycling NSW.

Grab your card with your rider number, present it at any Oakley Store to reveal your prize of either 20% off in-store or $300 voucher. Learn more.

Venue Access & Information

Venue information (including access and parking) is available here.

As of Thursday 16 November, the forecast for the Saturday 18 November is as follows;

Cloudy. Very high (90%) chance of showers, most likely in the morning and afternoon. Winds northeasterly 25 to 35 km/h turning easterly 15 to 25 km/h during the evening.

Min: 19 Max: 23

Possible rainfall: 3 to 10 mm

We intend to race, even if it rains. Races may, however, be shortened, or rescheduled to allow time to clear any standing water on the course.

Clubs & Teams Area

There are 18x bays along the western end of the course. These are perfect for a 'pit lane', a place for clubs and teams to setup their rollers and gear - and enjoy the race from only metres away.

Originally, these bays were going to be offered exclusively to 18x clubs and teams who had a certain number of riders enter (and we plan on doing this again in future).

However, due to the high likelihood of rain, these locations are no longer able to be exclusively reserved, as they are part of the undercover area we will need to hold participants and spectators if the skies open.

As such, we still encourage teams and clubs to setup in this area - but ask that everyone make room for people (both participants and spectators) to shelter out of the rain (should it rain during the event.

Please note that, due to the small amount of space around the track, and the fact we have 18x large bays at our disposal, no additional marquees are able to be brought into the venue. You are welcome to drop any gear at the gate and load it into the 18x bays, but all gear/equipment must fit inside the bays.

Food & Water

There will be a food truck and coffee cart available throughout the day (with the food truck remaining into the evening) - offering a great selection of food, hot drinks and refreshments for you to purchase. In addition, you are welcome to bring your own supplies. Finally, there is a tap onsite for you to refill bottles. Ask a member of the events team who will show you where it is.

Make sure you bring cash or a card if you would like to make use of the food or coffee vendors.
